Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

Welcome to DocuParse. These Terms of Service explain the rules for using DocuParse, including our website, dashboard, API, document extraction tools, and related services.

By creating an account, using the website, uploading documents, using the API, or purchasing a paid plan, you agree to these Terms.

1. About DocuParse

DocuParse is a document extraction SaaS/API product. It helps users upload or send documents, such as receipts and invoices, and receive structured extracted data such as merchant name, date, total, currency, document ID, line items, and related fields.

DocuParse may use text extraction, OCR, rule-based parsing, and AI fallback when needed to improve extraction results.

2. Accounts

To use DocuParse, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.

You must provide accurate account information and must not use the service for illegal, harmful, abusive, or unauthorized purposes.

3. API Usage

DocuParse provides API access through API keys. You are responsible for keeping your API keys private.

You must not:

  • share your API keys publicly
  • use the API to abuse, overload, or attack the service
  • reverse engineer or bypass limits
  • upload illegal, harmful, or unauthorized content
  • use the service in a way that violates laws or third-party rights

We may suspend or restrict access if API usage is abusive, fraudulent, unsafe, or violates these Terms.

4. Document Uploads and Extraction

When you upload or send a document to DocuParse, the service processes the file to extract structured data.

Uploaded documents and extracted results may be stored so you can view your document history, dashboard metrics, extraction results, usage limits, and API activity.

DocuParse is designed to process business-style documents such as receipts, invoices, and similar financial or operational documents. You should not upload sensitive personal documents unless you are authorized to do so and understand the risks.

You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and process any document you submit.

5. Accuracy of Extraction

DocuParse attempts to extract accurate structured data, but we do not guarantee that every result will be complete, correct, or suitable for every use case.

Extraction may be affected by document quality, formatting, OCR accuracy, image clarity, missing fields, language, layout, or other technical limits.

You are responsible for reviewing extracted data before relying on it for accounting, tax, legal, financial, or business decisions.

6. Plans, Limits, and Usage

DocuParse may offer free, test, and paid plans.

Current plan structure may include:

  • Free/Test plan: limited test usage
  • Starter plan: paid usage with higher monthly document limits
  • Pro plan: paid usage with higher limits and additional features

Plans may include monthly document limits and AI fallback limits.

Usage limits control new uploads and extractions only. Existing documents and extraction history remain available unless deleted by the user, removed according to retention policies, or removed because of abuse, legal requirements, or service security reasons.

We may change plan limits, features, or pricing in the future. Any changes will be reflected on the pricing or billing pages.

7. Changes to Plans, Pricing, and Features

We may change our plans, pricing, features, usage limits, AI fallback limits, or included benefits from time to time.

If we make changes to paid plans, the changes may apply at the start of the next billing period, renewal, or when the user changes plans, unless the change is required sooner for legal, security, abuse-prevention, technical, or operational reasons.

We may also add, remove, limit, or modify features when needed to maintain service quality, prevent abuse, control infrastructure costs, or improve the product.

If a user cancels or downgrades a paid plan, the current paid plan should normally remain active until the end of the current billing period. After that period ends, the account will move to the lower plan and the lower plan's limits and features will apply.

Existing documents and extracted results are not deleted only because of a plan change, but future uploads, API usage, AI fallback access, and other features may be limited according to the active plan.

8. Payments

Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider. We may change payment providers from time to time.

By purchasing a paid plan, you agree to pay the listed price for that plan. You are responsible for any taxes, fees, or charges that may apply.

Paid subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled.

9. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription according to the available billing options.

If you cancel a paid subscription, your access to paid features should remain active until the end of the current paid billing period, unless otherwise stated or required by the payment provider.

After the billing period ends, your account may move to the Free/Test plan or another available plan.

10. Refund Policy

Payments are generally non-refundable.

Refunds are only provided for proven duplicate payments caused by a technical or billing error. Users must provide reasonable proof of the duplicate charge.

Used services, processed documents, API usage, subscriptions, digital access, and consumed credits are not refundable.

11. User Data and Documents

You retain ownership of the documents and data you upload.

By using DocuParse, you give us permission to process uploaded documents and extracted data only as needed to provide the service, display results, enforce usage limits, maintain logs, improve reliability, and operate the platform.

We do not sell user documents or extracted data.

12. Prohibited Use

DocuParse may not be used for documents, transactions, receipts, invoices, customers, suppliers, or business activity connected to restricted or prohibited industries, whether the activity is legal or illegal in the user's location.

This includes, but is not limited to, business activity connected to:

  • gambling, betting, casinos, lotteries, sweepstakes, or gaming-for-money
  • alcohol sales, distribution, delivery, bars, clubs, or alcohol promotion
  • pornography, adult sexual content, escort services, sexual services, or explicit material
  • human trafficking, exploitation, forced labor, or modern slavery
  • child exploitation or abuse
  • illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug trafficking
  • weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, or regulated weapons
  • fraud, scams, money laundering, identity theft, or financial crime
  • counterfeit goods, stolen goods, or unauthorized resale
  • hate, harassment, extremist activity, or violent organizations
  • any similar restricted, harmful, exploitative, or high-risk business category

You may also not use DocuParse to process documents you do not own or do not have permission to use, documents that violate privacy rights or intellectual property rights, or in any way that abuses, overloads, bypasses, or attacks DocuParse systems.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if we believe the service is being used for prohibited activity, illegal activity, abuse, fraud, security risk, or violation of these Terms.

13. Service Availability

We try to keep DocuParse available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, hosting issues, third-party provider outages, technical errors, or other reasons.

14. Third-Party Providers

DocuParse may rely on trusted third-party providers to operate the service, including providers for hosting, authentication, storage, payment processing, infrastructure, security, and document/AI processing.

These providers are used only as needed to run the service, process documents, manage accounts, handle payments, maintain security, and provide core product functionality.

We are not responsible for outages, errors, or policy changes caused by third-party providers, but we aim to use reliable providers and keep the service stable.

15. Limitation of Liability

DocuParse is provided "as is" and "as available."

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses, including lost profits, lost data, lost revenue, or damages caused by inaccurate extraction results or service interruptions.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make important changes, we may update the date above or notify users through the website or dashboard.

Continued use of DocuParse after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
